We are all Adam Lanza. Let us not forget!

Enough with pointing fingers!

I am putting this in plain terms, so we all will get it.

Come on society, and take some responsibility for once in your lives! How dare we sit around condemning people who suffer from mental illness or similar challenges?

First of all, this mental health system in America has done nothing but fail us. Its darn impossible to get proper mental health treatment unless you are one of few who have certain types of private insurance. Getting mental health is darn impossible because society choose to attach such a stigma to it.

Those who seek mental health care, and have mental health challenges are automatically presented with negative discrimination, sneered stigma, and pure hatred. What more can I say? Its the truth. Its all around you. We bully mental health victims, harass them otherwise, we deny them basic necessities like the CHANCE AT MEANINGFUL EMPLOYMENT. And don't give me the excuse that 'these types of people are unstable'.

We lack open mindedness, are ignorant, and shallow. We are too busy thinking that anyone who doesn't fit our mold is inferior, or treating them as such.

Come on society!
We are making the conditions worse, mental health worse, and we are at fault for situations like this occuring. Let's take some responsibility

After all, how would YOU feel if you were the one who was shut out for being different? Being denied a chance to express yourself? Being stigmatized? Being denied a chance at a fair, meaningful life?

If you'll stop being so proud, you'll admit that not only are you Adam Lanza's mother, but you are also James Holmes, Seung-Hui Cho or Adam Lanza himself.
